As added insurance against slippage, the connector will not shut unless all contacts are properly inserted.
• Integral latch firmly holds mated connector halves together without the need for additional hardware. The solderable retention legs, or hold downs, keep the header assembly firmly attached to the board before soldering and mechanically fastened to the board after soldering
